Matt Wilson joined the Sagehens as an assistant athletic trainer at Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in Febuary of 2012.
Wilson came to Pomona-Pitzer with an extensive background of 22 years in professional baseball. He served for eight years as a minor league athletic trainer, seven years as a head minor league athletic training coordinator, and seven years as an assistant athletic trainer in the major leagues with the Los Angeles Dodgers (2000-06).
In addition to his duties with the Dodgers, Wilson also served as the minor league coordinator for the San Diego Padres from 2008-10. His minor league experiences have also included the Vero Beach Dodgers, the Bakersfield Dodgers, the San Antonio Missions, and the Albuquerque Dukes. He also served as an athletic trainer with the Orlando Magic of the NBA.
Wilson has also worked at the scholastic and collegiate levels, serving as the athletic trainer at Centennial High School in Corona and at Colony High School in Ontario. He also was a part-time assistant in the fall of 2007 at Chaffey College.
Wilson is a 1988 graduate of Montana State University and currently resides in Upland, California.
