CLAREMONT, CA. – Pomona-Pitzer Football sophomore Tate Tussing was tabbed Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Football Special Teams Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office.
Tussing had a breakout game against the Leopards that led to the Sagehens coming away with the 34-7 win on the road.
Tussing returned a kickoff 96 yards for his first career touchdown and also had a punt return for 29 yards later in the game. Not only did Tussing have a game on special teams, but also tallied three tackles and came away with an interception that he returned 71 yards to set the Sagehens up for a score.
The Sagehens will next travel to SCIAC opponent Cal Lutheran on Saturday, October 13th at 7:00 p.m.
