NIPTON, CA — The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Golf team finished the Las Vegas Desert Classic with a 13th place finish. The Sagehens finished the classic, which included a mix of both division II and division III institutions, with a total score of 602 for +42.
Sophomore Conor Rooney had an outstanding showing at the tournament finishing in a tie for 11th place. Rooney shot one under in the first round at 69 and shot 71 in the second round for an overall score of 140. Rooney was one stroke away from placing in the top-10.
Rosebeck shot 79 in the first round and 75 in the second round. Sawyers was consistent shooting 77 in each round, and Katchman shot 80 in the first round and improved by six strokes in the second round shooting 74.
Gilbert Chang rounded the tournament off for Pomona-Pitzer shooting 83 in the opening round and 77 in the second round for a total overall score of 160.
SCIAC rival La Verne finished the tournament in seventh place.
