Men's Golf: Sagehens End Fall With Win Over Oxy

SAN DIMAS, Ca. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Golf team defeated Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opponent Occidental in the Oxy-PP Dual match at Via Verde Country Club.

The Sagehens defeated Occidental 305-315 and shot a +17 as a team.

Pomona-Pitzer was led by Conor Rooney who led all golfers his round of 70. Rooney was also the only golfer to shoot under par at -2.

The Sagehens took four of the top-five golfers as Thomas Verigin took second at 75, Alan Tom took third at 77 and Geoff Holland tied for fifth with 78.

Pomona-Pitzer had two more golfers crack the top-10 as Sam Sawyers shot an 80 to finish in ninth and Hunter Lowry finished in 10th with an 82.

Just missing the top-10 was Owen Rosebeck who finished in 11th place at 83 and rounding out the afternoon for the Sagehens was Spencer Katchman who finished in a tie for 13th with an 84 and Jack Carrigan in 15th with an 86.

The Sagehens finished their fall season and will wait until they begin their spring 2018 season as they compete in the SCIAC 1 at Olivas Links on February 17th at 8:00 a.m.
