Claremont, Calif. - The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Swimming and Diving and Women's Swimming and Diving teams both ranked among the top teams in the nation in team GPA during the fall semester, it was announced today by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
The awards are in recognition of teams' that achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2015 Fall Semester.
The Pomona-Pitzer men came in with a 3.45 GPA, which was right above Kenyon and McDaniel who both came in at 3.40. This is the second-straight year the Pomona-Pitzer men's team has achieved recognition from the CSCAA as the Sagehens finished in second during the fall semester in 2015 with a 3.60 GPA.
The Pomona-Pitzer women's team is also ranked among the top teams in GPA during the fall semester for the second-straight season. The Sagehens came in this season with a 3.38 GPA, which is right above Saint Benedict who achieved a 3.37. The women finished the fall semester last season with the third highest GPA at 3.58.
The Pomona-Pitzer swim teams finish their regular season with two more home events. The Sagehens host SCIAC opponent Occidental on Saturday, January 30th at 11 a.m. and host rival Claremont-Mudd-Scripps the following week on Saturday, February 6th at 11 a.m.
