CLAREMONT, CA -- The No. 11 Pomona-Pitzer men's tennis team defeated Wesleyan (Conn.) 6-3 on Wednesday night at the Pauley Tennis Complex.
Pomona-Pitzer started out to a 3-0 lead as they swept all three of the doubles matches. The duo of Antony Bello and Kalyan Chadalavada started out with an 8-2 win in the No. 3 spot. Spencer Simonides and Graham Maassen followed that up with an 8-2 win in the No. 1 spot and Jonathan Kim and Jake Yasgoor ended doubles with an 8-4 win in the No. 2 spot.
Yasgoor started out the singles competition with a win in the No. 1 spot as he took own his opponent 6-1, 6-4.
The Sagehens lost two of the next three singles matches but got another point as Kim took care of his opponent in the No. 3 singles match 7-5, 6-3.
Pomona-Pitzer closed out the day with Sam Malech getting a win in the No. 5 singles spot by the score of 6-0, 1-6, 6-1.
The Sagehens next take the court as they host Gust. Adolphus in the Stag-Hen Invitational beginning on Friday, March 11th at 10:00 a.m.
