Men's Tennis: Sagehens Dominate No. 12 Tufts 7-2

CLAREMONT, CA. – The No. 12 Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis Team continue to reel in their spring break matches, defeating no. 22 Tufts University 7-2 on Tuesday afternoon. After edging out the Jumbos in doubles 2-1, the Sagehens outplayed their opponents in the singles match, taking 5 of 6.

Avery Bicks and Charlie Stark cruised to a comfortable 8-1 victory over Paris Pentousis and Niko Hereford in no. 2 doubles while Jed Kronenberg and Nils Skattum won 8-6 over Carl-Herman Grant and Zach Shaff in no. 3. However, Octave Bellet De Giacomoni and Josh Gearou fell in no. 1 to Boris Sorkin and Nathan Niemiec 8-5.

Octave Bellet made quick work out of Pentousis in no. 2 singles 6-0 and 6-3 while Avery Bicks defeated Jack Moldenhauer in no. 6 singles 6-3 and 6-4. Sam Gearou clinched the match with a 6-4 and 7-5 victory over Ben Biswas in no. 3 singles. Jacob Schoenherr battled to a three-set victory over Owen Bartok in no. 5, winning 6-2, 2-6, 10-5. Kronenberg also grinded through a three-set win, taking down Sorkin in no. 1 singles 0-6, 7-6, 6-4. Quinn Hirsohn fell in no. 4 singles to Isaac Gorelik 3-6 and 2-6.
