Men's Track and Field Dominate Regional Awards

NEW ORLEANS, LA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Track and Field earned several notable accolades leading up to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships as the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) named Danny Rosen West Region Athlete of the Year and Head Coach Jordan Carpenter West Region Coach of the Year.

Rosen earned his award after a standout season where he posted the fastest 3000 Meter Steeplechase time in the nation at 8:51.64. The junior also won All-Region for the steeplechase and the 1500 Meter.

Coach Carpenter won West Region Coach of the Year after leading the Sagehens to a top-five national ranking in only his second season at the helm. He also saw six athletes qualify for the NCAA Championship this season.

The Sagehens also saw six athletes win All-Region honors for two events, including Rosen, Carter Floyd (1500m, 800m), Dante Paszkeicz (1500m, 800m), Andy Reischling (10000m, 5000m), Hugo Ward (10000m, 5000m), and Owen Woo (10000m, 5000m). Julian DeGroot-Lutzner also earned the All-Region honor for the 3000 steeplechase as well this season.

The Sagehens will travel to Geneva, Ohio this week to compete in the NCAA Championship hosted at the Spire Institute from Thursday, May 23 to Saturday, May 25.
