CLAREMONT, CA. – The reigning 2016 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Champion Pomona-Pitzer Men's Water Polo team has released their 2017 regular season schedule.
Fresh off of the best season in program history as they ended the year as the No. 18 team in the nation across all divisions, the Sagehens are looking to duplicate their success for their upcoming 2017 season.
Pomona-Pitzer opens up 2017 with a string of early season tournaments as they begin with the UCLA Mini Tournament on September 2nd then move to the Inland Empire Tournament hosted by Redlands on September 9th.
The Sagehens begin their 2017 SCIAC schedule on the road as they travel to Chapman on September 16th and Whittier on September 20th before taking part in the MPSF Invitational at USC on September 22nd-24th.
The first leg of the Sixth Street Rivalry between Pomona-Pitzer and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps is slated for the Sagehens' SCIAC home opener at Haldeman Pool on September 27th at 7:00 p.m.
Pomona-Pitzer will then host the annual Gary Troyer Tournament on the weekend of October 6th-7th where the Sagehens will face off against Fresno Pacific, Air Force, McKendree and Navy. The Sagehens will then travel to their final regular season tournament of the year as they will compete in the Harvard Tournament where they will face off against Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Brown and MIT.
The Sagehens finish off the Sixth Street Rivalry as they cross the street to take on the Stags on October 28th at 11:00 a.m. and then end the season with five of their final six games at home as they host Pepperdine, Redlands, Occidental, and end the year with a double header against Chapman and Caltech.
The 2017 Men's Water Polo SCIAC Championships are set for November 17th with the top four seeds advancing and highest seed hosting this season.
