Men's Cross Country: Eight Runners Named All-SCIAC, Carpenter Earns Coach of the Year

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the All-SCIAC teams on Thursday afternoon, selecting eight runners from the Pomona-Pitzer Men's Cross Country Team on the list. In addition, Head Coach Jordan Carpenter was named SCIAC Coach of the Year.

Andy Reischling, Carter Stripp, James Kinney, and Julian Degroot-Lutzner were named to the All-SCIAC First Team for finishing within the top-10 at the SCIAC Championship, helping the Sagehens to their first SCIAC title since 2005. Reischling took first overall and was named SCIAC Athlete of the Year with a time of 25:33.71. Stripp took fifth while Kinney took sixth. DeGroot-Lutzner crossed in eighth to round out the first team.

Owen Woo, Nicholas Vucovich, Colin Mulligan, and Hugo Ward were awarded All-SCIAC Second Team for finishing in the top-20 at the championship. Woo took 12th while Vucovich crossed in 13th. Mulligan followed right behind at 14th and Hugo Ward came in 18th.

After coaching a conference-leading eight runners to a top-20 finish to win the SCIAC Championship, Jordan Carpenter was named SCIAC Coach of the Year in only his first year as head coach.

The Sagehens will compete at the NCAA West Regional on Saturday, November 11 at 10 a.m.
