CLAREMONT, CA. – Sophomore Liz Rodarte has been tabbed Second Team All-West as a utility player as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
Rodarte earned her first All-Region selection after her sophomore year after she earned her second-straight First Team All-SCIAC selection and was tabbed SCIAC Co-Newcomer of the Year during her freshman campaign.
Rodarte split time this year on the mound and at first base for the Sagehens. The sophomore finished second in the SCIAC in strikeouts with 110, and finished the season with seven wins and an ERA of 2.47. Her career strikeout total now sits at 236, third most in program history. At the plate Rodarte was just as dominant. She finished third in the conference with a .384 batting average, 43 hits, 11 doubles, and six home runs.
All-Region players are nominated and selected by NFCA member coaches in each of the eight Division III regions. First Team All-Region choices are eligible for selection to the NFCA All-America team, which will be announced the evening of May 24 online at NFCA.org and in person at the NCAA Division III Championship banquet in Oklahoma City.
