CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Basketball team came away with a win on Senior Night 62-56 on Saturday night at Voelkel Gymnasium.

Leong led the Sagehens at the half with nine points.

The Sagehens made up ground and then some in the third quarter as they outscored Cal Lutheran 20-13. A big quarter from Chidom and Ikehara guided the Sagehens in regaining the lead as Chidom notched eight points in the third with Ikehara scoring six. Pomona-Pitzer immediately began to cut into the Regals' lead and eventually tied the game at 36-36 after a Tamura jumper with 6:37 left in the third. The Regals responded and quickly retook the lead, but the Sagehens shut down Cal Lutheran in the final five minutes of the quarter and went on a 7-0 run to take a 45-42 lead heading into the fourth.

Pomona-Pitzer held its lead in the fourth and extended it to the largest of the game at eight points after a Leong layup made the score 58-50 with 4:09 left to go. Cal Lutheran battled back late and got within striking distance after a made three-pointer cut the lead down to four points at 60-56 with 2:06 left in the game. A key steal by Ikehara set up Tamura for a break-away layup that sealed the game at 62-56 with 22 seconds remaining as the Sagehens locked up a big win on Senior Night over the Regals.
