DALLAS, TX - Riding the coattails of their victory over the University of Texas-Dallas, the Hens continued their momentum, beating the Birmingham-Southern College Panthers 17-3.
Pomona-Pitzer went up 5-0 to start the game, and led 12-2 at the half before outscoring the Panthers 5-1 in the second half. Junior Martha Marich led the Hens with six goals, followed by Freshman Jana London with four, Logan Galansky and Kaitlin Jones with three, and sophomore sensation and Sagehen of the Week, Emma Molloy with one. Galansky also tallied two assists, while Marich notched one.
The attack was not the only component that was on fire. The defense was a brick wall, letting the Panthers only score three goals (one in the second half). Goalie Casey Leek had a great game, with seven saves. The defense, led by junior Co-Captain Maddy Noble, was aggressive and showed no mercy.
