CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Lacrosse team fell to non-conference opponent Colorado College 14-7 on Sunday afternoon at the South Athletics Complex.
Season Impact: With the loss, the Sagehens fall to 9-3 overall.
Pomona-Pitzer kept the Tigers quiet on offense in the first half as they limited Colorado College to just five goals in the first 30 minutes. The Sagehens got out to a quick start on offense as Thomey netted her first goal of the game just 15 seconds in off of an assist from sophomore Sarah Woo. The Tigers then responded with four-straight goals to take a 4-1 lead with 13:42 left until halftime.
The Sagehens got their offense going again as Immergluck connected with back-to-back goals and first-year Kiera Havill added a goal as well to tie the game at 4-4. The Tigers ended up getting one more goal to end the first half as they held a slight 5-4 lead over the Sagehens heading into the break.
The second half was Tiger dominate as they opened up with five goals to start the second half to take a commanding 10-4 lead over the Sagehens. Pomona-Pitzer' offense struggled in the second half as they only netted three goals from first-years Maggie Sweeney and Eleanor Mackey while Thomey netted her second goal of the game as the Sagehens fell to the Tigers at home.
