Women's Lacrosse: Woo Nets Twice in CMS Loss

CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Lacrosse Team fell 15-4 to the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athenas on Saturday afternoon. Sarah Woo led the team with two goals while Kiera Havill had two assists and three groundballs.

Season Impact: The Sagehens are now 11-5 overall this season and 6-3 in the SCIAC.   

The Athenas scored the opening two goals, but Kiera Havill found Sarah Woo seven minutes into the match to cut the lead in half. However, CMS responded with eight straight goals, closing out the first half with a 10-1 lead.

Woo tried to rally the team for a comeback, scoring her second goal of the game to start the second half. After the Athenas answered back with four more goals, Jessalyn Simon-Parker scored on a free position shot with 14:25 minutes left. Lilly Thomey added one more goal with 6:34 remaining in the match, but that was all the Sagehens could muster as the Athenas remained put for the victory.
