Season Impact: With the win the Sagehens improve to 5-3-1 overall and are now 3-1-1 in conference play while the Poets drop to 5-3 overall and 2-3 in SCIAC play.

sophomore Isa Berardo earned her fourth win of the season and tallied her second consecutive shutout of the season to go along with two saves.
Pomona-Pitzer wasted no time jumping ahead to an early lead against the Poets as they scored within the first two minutes of the first half. Mosher spotted Gane making a run towards the box and blasted a long ball through the middle of the Poets' defense which Gane settled and snuck past the Whittier goalkeeper to give the Sagehens a 1-0 lead in the second minute of play.
Gane notched her second goal of the afternoon just eight minutes later as Piwinksi made a run down the left side of the field and played in a perfect cross that found the head of Gane to push the Pomona-Pitzer lead to 2-0 in the 10th minute.
After taking an early two goal lead, the Sagehens tightened up on defense and made the Poets work for the few chances they had to score. The Sagehens limited Whittier to just two shots in the first half and four shots in the second half with only one shot on goal in each half of play.
