Emma van der Veen Wins Second In 3-Meter Championship

CLAREMONT, CA. – Emma van der Veen took home her fourth career All-SCIAC Honors after finishing in second place in the 3-Meter Dive on Sunday afternoon at the SCIAC Dive Championship. The sophomore scored 441.95 in the final round after putting up 428.50 in the preliminary round. Megan Thai of Whittier College finished at the top, putting up 447.50 in the final round while Jacque Desmond of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps took third with 428.70.

First year Ruby Epstein made the final cut after scoring 341.60 in the preliminary round. She finished in eighth in the final after scoring 367.60. Elaine Liu placed 10th in the preliminaries with 305.15 points and Ali Flagsberg-Tsai scored 233.15.

Up Next: The Sagehens will finish the remainder of the conference postseason on Thursday, February 21-24 for the SCIAC Swim Championship. Preliminary events begin at 9:00 a.m. and finals start at 5:00 p.m.
