Volleyball: Sagehens Roll Past Bulldogs

REDLANDS, Calif. – Stephanie Sun put down a game-high 13 kills on .367 hitting and the Pomona-Pitzer Volleyball team made quick work of the Bulldogs Tuesday night in Redlands.

Season Impact: The Sagehens improve to 11-9 overall and 7-5 in the SCIAC, keeping them in fourth place with four conference games remaining. 

Set Scores: 25-18, 25-17, 25-18

The Sagehens were on point all night, hitting .319 in the match, highlighted by a .486 performance in the second set. Three Sagehens recorded double digit kills for the second match in a row.

Julia Zwaal led Pomona-Pitzer with 19 digs to go along with 11 kills and three assists. Zwaal's performance moves her up to second in the SCIAC in total kills with 237. Libero Sophie Janssen added 13 digs of her own.

Isabel Kelly totalled 12 kills and two blocks in the match. Sarah Gamble put in two kills. She leads the Sagehens with 54 blocks on the year.

Jessica Finn finished the game with 37 assists, two shy of her season-high. Sun's 13 kills marked her second most kills of the season.

Next Match: The Sagehens take a break from SCIAC action to host the Oberlin College Yeowomen on Friday for a 7 p.m. game at Voelkel Gymnasium.
