Volleyball: Pomona-Pitzer Drops Two In Day One Of Cal Lu Fornia Invitational

CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Volleyball team fell to Trinity and Whitworth by the scores of 3-0 and 3-0 on Friday afternoon at day one of the Cal Lu Fornia Invitational.

Season Impact: With the losses, the Sagehens drop to 1-5 on the year while Trinity improves to 4-1 and Whitworth moves to 3-2.

Pomona-Pitzer fell to Trinity 3-0 in game one of the Cal Lu Fornia Invitational by the scores of 25-15, 15-18 and 15-12.

The Sagehens were led by Julia Zwaal who had a team-high eight kills while Isabel Kelly was right behind here with seven. Jessica Finn led the Sagehens with 12 assists and Zwaal and Pope each had 10 digs.

Pomona-Pitzer also fell to Whitworth in straight sets by the scores of 25-21, 25-22 and 25-20.

The Sagehens' offense struggled against the Pirates as they only hit .060 as a team. Sophie Janssen led the Sagehens with seven kills and Zwaal chipped in with six. Finn led the Sagehens with a team-high 15 assist and Janssen also led the squad with 14 digs.
