The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference named senior Julia Zwaal and junior Vicky-Marie Addo-Ashong of the Pomona-Pitzer Women’s Volleyball Team to the All-SCIAC Second Team on Monday morning.

The University of La Verne and Pomona-Pitzer athletics are hosting the 2018 Leopard Invitational. The tournament features eight programs from across the country to compete in a total of 14 games over two days, Oct. 5-6. After battling through a grueling 5-set contest, the Pomona-Pitzer Women’s Volleyball team prevailed over the Cal Lutheran Regals on Saturday night (26-24, 24-26, 17-25, 25-16, 15-8) to vault to second place in the SCIAC. The Sagehens scored more kills than the Regals, putting up 60 kills while the Regals had 43.
The Pomona-Pitzer Women’s Volleyball team saw its invincible run through the SCIAC come to an end on Tuesday night as the Sagehens fell to the Chapman University Panthers 3-1 (25-22, 25-12, 24-26. 25-22).

The Pomona-Pitzer Women’s Volleyball Team didn’t get the start they wanted on the first day of the Cal Lu Fornia Invitational, falling to Hardin Simmons University in the five-set thriller 3-2 (23-25, 25-22. 20-25, 27-25, 15-11) and then losing to Puget Sound 3-0 (25-20, 25-13, 25-21). The Sagehens carry a 2-4 record overall this season.
The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Volleyball Team closed out the Pacific Coast Classic with an even record and splitting the second day with a dominating victory over Mount Aloysius College and a loss against Salisbury University. The Sagehens are now 2-2 in the regular season.
The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Volleyball team opened up the season in the Pacific Coast Classic with a controlling 3-0 sweep over College of Saint Scholastica, but saw their night spoiled by a 3-1 loss against the Franklin & Marshall Diplomats. Julia Zwaal led the team with 12 kills and 15 digs while Sara Ryerson delivered 18 assists in the first match while Isabel Kelly led with 9 kills while Sophie Janssen made 18 digs in the match against Franklin & Marshall.
The Pomona-Pitzer Women’s Volleyball team kick off it’s season on August 31st as they play a doubleheader against Mount Aloysius at 11:45 a.m. and Salisbury University at 4:30 p.m at the Pacific Coast Classic. The Sagehens are eager to step back on the court and start their 2018 campaign as they go on the hunt for their third SCIAC Championship.
