REDLANDS, Calif. – The Pomona-Pitzer women's water polo team defeated Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponent Redlands 10-3 on Saturday afternoon.
The Sagehens struck early and often as they scored three goals in the first quarter with freshman Natalie Hill, sophomore Morgan McCracken and sophomore Jocelyn Castro each netting one goal to give the Sagehens a 3-1 lead.
Pomona-Pitzer junior goal keeper Ahsha Earwood shut out the Bulldogs in the second quarter and added two more goals to their total as Castro and Hill both scored their second goals of the game to give the Sagehens a 5-1 lead at halftime.
The Bulldogs got one goal in the third quarter but the Sagehens tacked on three more goals as freshman Kahea Kahaulelio and junior Christina Williamson scored their first goals of the game and Castro notched her third goal of the game to give Pomona-Pitzer an 8-2 lead entering the fourth quarter.
Williamson and Hill scored their second goals of the game in the fourth quarter as the Sagehens cruised to their third SCIAC victory of the season.
The Sagehens next participate in the Bruin Invitational on the campus of UCLA on Sunday, April 3rd against San Jose State at 12:15 p.m. and UCLA at 4:15 p.m.
