Women's Water Polo: Sagehens Fall to APU, 6-5

GLENDORA, CA — Morgan McCracken and Christina Williamson each finished the day with two goals, but the Pomona-Pitzer Women's Water Polo team dropped two games at Citrus College Saturday afternoon.

Azusa Pacific 6, Sagehens 5 

Morgan McCracken scored two goals for Pomona-Pitzer and Christina Williamson evened the game at 4-4 with 2:13 remaining in regulation. But the Cougars' Alex Paxton netted the winning goal with just seconds remaining in the game.

Natalie Hill gave the Sagehens the opening lead when she scored less than a minute into the game. Nohea Kahaulelio also added a goal for Pomona-Pitzer. Ahsha Earwood finished the game with eight saves.

No. 22 Cal State Northridge 9, Sagehens 3

Crystal Huang opened the scoring for the Sagehens in the second quarter. Natalie Hill and Williamson each added a goal in the last three minutes to put the final at 9-3.

Earwood finished the match with five saves. 

Katelyn Fairchild led the Matadores with two goals.

Season Impact: The Sagehens, who have played seven top-25 teams this season, fall to 0-8 overall.

Next Game: Pomona-Pitzer travels to Cal Lutheran for the Tina Finali Invitational next Friday, February 24. The Sagehens will face St. Francis (NY) at 8:30 a.m. and Fresno Pacific at 2 p.m.
