Tamara Perea enters her fourth season as an assistant coach of the Pomona-Pitzer Women's Water Polo program in 2016 after a standout career with the Sagehens that saw her earn Division III National Player of the Year honors in back-to-back seasons. She had helped Pomona-Pitzer to two straight SCIAC titles in her first two seasons as an assistant, including an outright title in 2014 and a co-championship in 2015.
Perea helped the Sagehens to a pair of SCIAC titles and NCAA Tournament appearances in her career, which concluded with her senior season in 2011, when she earned her second straight Division III Player of the Year honor. She graduated as the program's all-time leading scorer, and her efforts helped the Sagehens to two SCIAC titles and a Division III national championship as well.
Perea has extended her water polo experience beyond college, as she played professionally in Spain last year, following her graduation from Pitzer College in 2011.
