Claremont, Calif. - Wes Nordquist had 20 points and 12 rebounds as the Buena Vista Men's Basketball team won its seventh game in a row, defeating Pomona-Pitzer 75-63 on Sunday afternoon at Voelkel Gymnasium.

Buena Vista improves to 8-3 overall with the win, while Pomona-Pitzer sees its record drop to 7-3 with the defeat.

Pomona-Pitzer trailed 36-27 at the half, as sophomore guard Kyle McAndrews (Seattle, Wash.) hit a runner in the paint with five seconds left to make the score 33-27, but Cole Darrow ran up the middle of the court and banked in a 30-footer at the buzzer for the Beavers.

The Sagehens came out strong in the second half, as junior forward John Weiss (Cleveland, Ohio) drove to the basket for consecutive lay-ups. A three-point play from senior guard Xavyr Moss (Federal Way, Wash.) got the lead down to 38-36, but Nick Clark hit the first of his three second half three-pointers to get the lead back to 41-36, jump-starting a 26-5 run that gave the Beavers a commanding 64-41 lead.
Sophomore guard Joe Eyen (Granite Bay, Calif. - pictured) came off the bench to nail three straight three-pointers for the Sagehens to give them some life, closing within 71-57 with 4:52 left to go, but Pomona-Pitzer was unable to get closer than 12 points down the stretch as the Beavers held on for the win.
