Koch's 27 Points Leads Men's Basketball to 92-72 Win

Claremont, Calf. - Frosh Corbin Koch scored a game-high 27 points to lead Pomona-Pitzer's men's basketball team to a win over Bristol University Saturday night in the second game of the David Wells Classic. 

Pomona-Pitzer improves to 3-1 on the season, and followed up Friday night's win over Carleton with an even more-polished effort Saturday against Bristol. Pomona-Pitzer shot 48.4% from the field on 30-62 shooting in scoring the highest team point output on the young season. 

The Sagehens shot out to an early 9-2 lead in the first two minutes on three 3-pointers (one by Daniel Rosenbaum and two by Gibson Farone-Collins), and never looked back. Pomona-Pitzer led, 41-36, at the half, behind Hunter Lowry's 15 points in the first 20 minutes. Pomona-Pitzer then outscored Bristol, 51-37, in the second half to win handily, as Koch scored 18 of his 27 points after the break. A total of 14 Sagehens saw playing time in the well-rounded effort. 

Koch (pictured) led all scorers with his 27 points, followed by Farone-Collins with 22, and Lowry with 17. Pomona-Pitzer outrebounded Bristol, 44-32. 

Pomona-Pitzer travels to Redlands Friday and Saturday to play in the Lee Fulmer Memorial Classic. The Sagehens face Antelope Valley Friday night at 5:00pm, and then take on Life Pacific Saturday, also at 5:00pm.
