CLAREMONT, CA. -- Pomona-Pitzer junior center Alex Preston earned Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Athlete Of The Week honors as announced by the league office.
Preston helped guide Pomona-Pitzer to a 2-0 week that saw the Sagehens down Pacific (Ore.), 117-95 and Lewis & Clark, 92-72. Preston averaged 31.0 points per game during the week, scoring a school-record 42 points in the win over Pacific. He was 26-of-38 shooting from the floor (68.4%) and averaged 10.5 rebounds per game finishing with 21 boards during the two-game stretch. Preston was the first Sagehen to score 40 points in a game since Jeremiah Martin set the previous school record of 41 points in 1999.
