Sagehens Sixth At SCIAC #1

Claremont, Calif. - Jordan Fox shot a two-day 153 and Kevin Knox (pictured, photo by Bob Palermini) a 154 to help the Pomona-Pitzer Men's Golf team to a sixth-place finish of eight teams at the first SCIAC Tournament of the spring season on Saturday and Sunday at Sierra Lakes Golf Club.

Redlands won the event with a two-day SCIAC record score of 560, led by a two-day 134 (69, 65) from individual champion Jeremy Gomberg. CMS was second with a 581, followed by La Verne with a 591, Cal Lutheran with 592 and Chapman with a 597 in the 3-5 spots.

Pomona-Pitzer was sixth with a 623, finishing ahead of Occidental and Whittier, which tied for seventh with a 630.

Fox shot a 76 on the first day and a 77 on the second to card a 153, which tied him for 24th overall. Knox shot a 77 both days to come in 29th place. Brian Fong had two rounds under 80 (79, 78) to finish third for the Sagehens, while Chandler Jennings was fourth with an 80-80-160 on the weekend.

Pomona-Pitzer will be back in action on March 1 at the Las Vegas Desert Classic.
