Men's Golf Finishes Seventh At SCIAC Championships

Oak Valley, Calif. - The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Golf team finished in seventh place at the 2014 SCIAC Championships, which took place from Sunday-Tuesday at Oak Valley Golf Club.

The Sagehens earned a three-day score of 993, finishing just two shots behind Occidental in sixth place and 17 shots ahead of Whittier in eighth place. CMS won a tight battle for the team title with 903, edging Redlands (907) and La Verne (911).

Sophomore Kevin Knox had the best round of the weekend for the Sagehens with a 77 on the third day in blistering winds which caused scores to skyrocket. Knox's 77 tied for the second best score of the day behind Brad Shigezawa of CMS, who won the individual title by 10 shots with a -4.

Sophomore Jordan Fox had the best three-day score for the Sagehens with a 246, just edging out Knox with a 248 and freshman Brian Fong with a 249. Fox finished in 28th place overall, with Knox tying for 31st and Fong tying for 33rd.
