Sagehens 14th At Desert Classic

Las Vegas, Nev. -  The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Golf team finished 14th overall at the annual Las Vegas Desert Classic on Sunday and Monday at the Paiute Golf Club.

Junior Kevin Knox (pictured) shot a two-day 154, including a 75 on Sunday. Freshman Spencer Katchman shot a 159, including a team-best 78 on Monday. Bobby Holden of Redlands shot a 67 on Monday to win the individual title with a 143, helping the Bulldogs to the team title.

The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Golf team finished eighth out of 14 teams at the annual Las Vegas Desert Classic on Sunday and Monday at the Paiute Golf Club. Junior Tiffany Gu led Pomona-Pitzer with a two-day score of 159, tying for 14th overall out of 68 competitors. She shot a 78 on Sunday, which tied her for eighth overall at the midway point. Sophomore Jennifer Kim was second on the squad with a 167, while freshman Kate Hartman was a stroke back with a 168.

Oklahoma Christian won the team title, while Redlands finished fourth out of the SCIAC. Anna Arrese Cortadellas of Oklahoma Christian tied for the individual title with a 148, matching Marla Souvannasing of Central Oklahoma.
