Men's Golf: Pomona-Pitzer Takes Ninth At West Cup

LA VERNE, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Golf team finished in ninth place at the West Cup on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday afternoon at Sierra La Verne Country Club.

The Sagehens finished in ninth place overall with a three-round score of 933. Guilford College took first place overall with a score of 891, La Verne took second at 899, Cal Lutheran took third at 907, Trinity in fourth at 916 and Pacific Lutheran took fifth to round out the top-five with a score of 918.

The Sagehens were led by Conor Rooney who ended the tournament in a tie for 22nd overall with a 78, 79 and a 74 for a score of 231. Right behind Rooney was Thomas Verigin who finished in a tie for 26th with an 80, 78 and 74 for a final score of 232.

Owen Rosebeck ended in a tie for 40th overall with a 78, 79 and 79 for a score of 236 and Hunter Lowry finished just behind Rosebeck in a tie for 45th overall with an 84, 76 and 77 for a score of 237.

Ending the day for the Sagehens was Gilbert Chang who shot an 81 in rounds one and two and came back with an 88 for a final score of 250, which landed him in a tie for 73rd overall.
