LOS ANGELES, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Soccer team fell to Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opponent Occidental on Saturday afternoon at Jack Kemp Stadium.
Season impact: With the loss, the Sagehens drop to 2-3-1 overall and 1-2-1 in conference play while the Tigers improve to 3-2 overall and 2-1 to begin conference play this season.
The Sagehens had a tough afternoon on the offensive side of the ball as they were outshot 14-4 by the Tigers and only had one shot on goal.
Occidental got on the board early as they scored in the 7th minute of the match off of a goal from Santiago Bedoya to take an early 1-0 lead and played from in front.
The Tigers added a second goal in the 19th minute from Elijah Remy to take a 2-0 lead and went into the half with a two-goal advantage.
The Sagehens tried to keep back into the game in the second half as the defense kept the Tigers off of the scoreboard for the majority of the half but Occidental found the back of the net for a third time in the 72nd minute from Ethan Glass to go up 3-0 over the Sagehens.
The Tigers were able to hold the Sagehens scoreless as Pomona-Pitzer fell on the road against Occidental.
