Claremont, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Soccer team fell to non-conference opponent UC Irvine 4-0 on Friday night at Anteater Stadium.
Season Impact: With the loss, the Sagehens fall to 3-3 overall.
Pomona-Pitzer traveled down to Irvine to face Division I opponent UCI for their final non-conference match of the season.
The Sagehens stayed with the Anteaters for the majority of the first half but UCI finally scored their first goal of the night in the 34th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Freshman Jonathan Rushton got the start in the first half and played well as he stopped two shots with the Sagehens trailing 1-0 at the half.
Although the Sagehens had trouble on the offensive end of the field with UCI limiting them to just three shots, the defense played extremely well as they only allowed one goal through 66 minutes of play.
UCI was able to get its offense going late in the second half as they converted three goals in the final 23 minutes of play as the Sagehens fell 4-0 on the road.
