ORANGE, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Soccer team fell to Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opponent Chapman 3-1 on Saturday night at Wilson Field.
Season Impact: With the loss, the Sagehens fall to 4-7 overall and 3-4 in SCIAC play.
The Sagehens were led by senior Aidan Ferrer who netted the only goal for Pomona-Pitzer in the loss.
The Panthers opened up the scoring in the 16th minute of the match as a cross came into the box across the face of the goal that found the foot of Kai Howe to give Chapman a 1-0 lead. The Panthers had two more shots on goal in the first half but the Sagehens went into halftime trailing 1-0.
Chapman came out in the second half and doubled up on its lead as they scored another goal in the 67th minute and then got their third goal in the 67th minute as a one-on-one chance went in favor of the Panthers to extend the lead to 3-0.
The Sagehens got on the board in the 84th minute as Ferrer took an outside shot that found the back of the net to cut the lead down to 3-1. Pomona-Pitzer outshot the Panthers in the second half and put seven of them on goal but could only get one past the keeper as they fell on the road.
