CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Soccer team fell to Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opponent Redlands 3-0 on Saturday morning at the Pomona-Pitzer soccer Field.
Season Impact: With the loss, the Sagehens fall to 3-10-4 overall and 2-6-3 in conference play.
Before the game, the Sagehens honored their lone senior in Daven Crossland. A senior from Santa Rosa, Daven is a Neuroscience Major and Spanish minor at Pitzer College. Throughout his career as a Sagehen, Daven has appeared in 58 games and made 22 starts. He has amassed 9 points in his career with 3 goals and 3 assists with 1 game-winning goal.
The Sagehens got outshot by the Bulldogs 19-5 in the game and despite Bryan Diangson's seven saves, Redlands found the back of the net three times. The Bulldogs got out to a good start in the first half as they netted two goals in the first 11 minutes to play from in front. The first goal came off of a rebounded save from Diangson and the second goal for the Bulldogs came off of a headed corner.
The Sagehens had a few opportunities to get on the board in the second half but a few unlucky bounces didn't go their way to spoil their offensive chances. The Bulldogs added one more goal in the 73rd minute as the Sagehens fell at home on Senior Day.
