Scholten Has Strong All-Around Day At Redlands Pentathlon

Redlands, Calif. - All-American Max Scholten (Boulder, Colo. - pictured) finished second in the backstroke, third in the freestyle, fourth in the breaststroke and fifth in the butterfly at the Redlands Pentathlon on Saturday (all 100 meter races).

Scholten, who was an All-American last year in the backstroke, had a time of 53.54 to come in second on Saturday at Redlands. He also had a time of 49:20 in the freestyle, 1:03.52 in the breaststroke and 54:21 in the butterfly.

Tommy DePaoli was tenth in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 55.98, while Nathan Yale was ninth in the breaststroke at 1:06.50. Hugh Berryman came in fifth in the freestyle, as he broke the 50-second mark with a time of 49.47.

The Sagehens will be back in action when the diving team travels to Redlands next weekend.
