CMS Takes Win In Battle Of SCIAC Unbeatens

Claremont, Calif. - Kyle Dalrymple (200 breast), Samuel To (200 IM) and Danny Villars (100 fly) won individual races, but the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Men's Swimming and Diving team earned a 191-107 win over the Sagehens on Saturday afternoon at Axelrood Pool. 

Both teams came into the meet with perfect 7-0 records in the SCIAC, but the Stags were able to finish the regular season unbeaten with the win at 8-0. Pomona-Pitzer falls to 7-3 overall in dual meets and 7-1 in conference meets. 

Villars (pictured) won one of the closest races of the day in the 100 fly, winning 51.21 to 51.32 over Patrick Schultz of CMS. Villars also finished second to To in the 200 IM, with To finishing first in 1:57.15, and Villars winning a close race for second 1:57.85 to 1:57.96 over Tim Storer. 

Dalrymple earned a comfortable win in the 200 breast, finishing in 2:10.29, almost a three-second margin over Storer (2:13.23).  

The Sagehens will be back in action for the SCIAC Championships in two weeks in Commerce.
