Claremont, Calif. - Behind a raft of strong early-season performances, Pomona-Pitzer's men's swimming and diving squad took second out of eight schools Saturday at the 2015 Pomona-Pitzer Relays at home in Haldeman Pool.
Cal Baptist scored 141 points to win the team title, followed by Pomona-Pitzer with 103. Redlands (40), Whittier (30), Caltech (21), Concordia-Irvine (18), La Verne (14), and Chapman (2) trailed.
Pomona-Pitzer also took second in the 200 Medley Relay, as the quartet of Erik Garcia, Dalrymple, Samuel To, and Adrian Hui swam 1:36.67 to place behind Cal Baptist. In the 3x100 Backstroke Relay, Garcia, Mark Rusznak and To took second in 2:39.49 behind Cal Baptist. In the 3x100 Butterfly Relay, To, Alexandar Landau, and Will Thorson took second to Cal Baptist at 2:40.67. In the 400 Free Relay, Ryan Franzese, Hui, Jack Swanson, and Austin Abrams took second to Cal Baptist in 3:16.18. In the 400 IM Relay, Ferrel Atkins, Garcia, Koerner, and To clocked 3:40.27 to finish second behind Cal Baptist. In the 3x500 Free Relay, Spencer Satz, Abrams, and Swanson clocked 14:49.17 to finish second to Cal Baptist. In the 200 Free Relay, Hui, Steven Glick, Koerner, and To clocked 1:26.86 to finish second to Cal Baptist.
Pomona-Pitzer had strong victories in the mixed relays, winning the 8x25 Medley Relay in 1:34.37, and winning the 8x25 Free Relay in 1:25.08.
Pomona-Pitzer hosts Concordia-Irvine Saturday, Nov. 7 in Haldeman Pool, starting at 11:00am.
