Men's Swim/Dive Defeats Whittier, 198-72, in Home SCIAC Meet

Claremont, Calif. - Pomona-Pitzer's men's swimming and diving team won ten events and both relays at home in Haldeman Pool to score a comfortable 198-72 SCIAC victory over Whittier Saturday. 

Michael Schuur started off the team victory by winning the 1-meter diving (139.00). Other Sagehen wins came from Andy Wright in the 1000 free (10:29.25), Mark Hallman in the 200 free (1:45.09), Ryan Drover in the 100 back (55.61), Teddy Koerner in the 100 breast (59.07) and 200 breast (2:13.00), Alexander Landau in the 200 fly (2:00.20), Adrian Hui in the 40 free (21.48), Phillip Clayman in the 100 free (48.07), Erik Garcia in the 200 back (1:56.96), and Jack Swanson (pictured) in the 500 free (4:47.84).

Pomona-Pitzer won the 200 medley relay, with Hallman, Koerner, To, and Hui clocking 1:35.91, plus the 400 free relay, with Hui, Clayman, To, and Hallman touching the wall at 3:13.19.

Pomona-Pitzer next competes in the La Verne Invitational this Saturday and Sunday, December 12-13 (10:00am both days) in Commerce, California. Pomona-Pitzer's aquatics students will then take a break for academic finals, and will resume competition Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at home against Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
