Men's Swimming and Diving: Sagehens Start Off Season in Dominant Fashion

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Swimming and Diving team started off their season in dominating fashion, beating Concordia 160-71 in their opening dual meet.

The Sagehens swept the diving portion of the competition, with Jeremy Goldberg winning the three meter with score of 208.30 and the one meter with a score of 192.70.

Pomona-Pitzer opened the swimming portion with a win in the 400 yard medley relay (3:34.36) led by returning All-American Daniel To, Teddy Koerner, Samuel To, and Ryan Drover.

Will Abele won the 1000 yard freestye (10:05.36) and 200 yard fly (1:58.55). Daniel Villars finished second in the 200 fly with a time of 1:59.99.

Adrian Hui finished second in both freestyle sprint events with a time of 21.37 in the 50 yard free, and 48.06 in the 100 yard free. Hui led the Sagehens to a win in the 200 yard freestyle relay (1:28.67) along with Danny Villars, Peter Eidnes Hansen, and Abele.

Daniel To won the 200 yard IM (2:01.75) and was followed by Erik Garcia (2:02.02). To added a win in the 200 yard backstroke (1:59.61) where he was again followed by Garcia (2:00.34)

Liam O'Shea came in first in the 500 yard freestyle (4:51.35) followed by Jack Swanson (4:55.43).

Teddy Koerner won the 200 yard breast stroke with a time of 2:11.55 and Jeffrey Tran came in second with a time of 2:19.67
