THOUSAND OAKS, CA. – The No. 17 Men's Swimming and Diving teams swept both relay races and won six individual events on their way to a dual meet win against the Cal Lutheran Kingsmen on Saturday.
Team Scores: Pomona-Pitzer 139, Cal Lutheran 95
Season Impact: The Sagehens keep a clean sheet in SCIAC meets with just two regular season dual meets left this season.
Adrian Hui kept up his dominance in the freestyle sprint events, winning both the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle. In the 50 free, he won with a time of 21.42, edging out Cal Lutheran's Thelen Mckinna-Worrell who took second at 22.01. In the 100 free he scored another close win, touching at 48.07, just ahead of Mckinna-Worrell (48.63).
The 200 yard IM proved to be the closest finish of the day with Samuel To besting Ryan Emili by two hundredths of a second. To touched the wall at 1:58.82 and Emili finished at 1:58.84.
Erik Garcia won the 200 yard backstroke with his fastest time of the year. Garcia touched in at 1:58.92, nearly two seconds ahead of Cal Lutheran's Davy Thomas (2:00.91).
Senator also took second in the 500 yard freestyle finishing with a time of 4:45.74. Liam O'Shea finished third in the 1650 yard freestyle with a time of 16:55.33.
Pomona-Pitzer closed out the meet with an impressive win in the 400 yard freestyle relay with the combination of Hui, Samuel To, Senator, and Villars taking first with a time of 3:10.93. The Kingsmen's top team finished with a time of 3:15.42.
Jake Crawford took second in the three-meter dive with a score of 148.55. Michael Schuur finished second in the one-meter (150.23) and Crawford took third (156.75). Cal Lutheran's Ricky Mendoza won both events scoring 165.85 in the three meter and 156.75 in the one-meter.
Next Meet: The Sagehens will celebrate Senior Day in a 10:30 a.m. home meet against La Verne next Saturday.
