Girodias Second In 3000 At Collegiate All-Comers

Claremont. Calif. - Senior Ben Girodias finished in second place in the 3000 meters to highlight the Pomona-Pitzer Men's Track team's performance at its Collegiate All-Comers meet on Saturday at Strehle Track.

Girodias finished the 3K in 8:37.75, finishing second out of 59 runners. He was less than two seconds behind the winner, Joshua Sealand of CMS. Sophomore Paul Messana, an All-American last year in the 800 meters, ran the one-mile event and finished sixth in 4:19.16.

It was also a good day for the freshman throwers for the Sagehens, as Calvin Aylward was third in the javelin (171-7), and Reggie Reed came in fourth in the shot put (42-8.25).

Pomona-Pitzer will be in action next weekend at the Rossi Relays, hosted by CMS.
