REDLANDS, CA. – A handful of athletes from the Pomona-Pitzer Men's Track and Field program competed at the Redlands Last Chance Meet in hopes of qualifying for the NCAA National Championship. Among the few, Carter Floyd qualified for the NCAA after taking first overall at the 800 Meter Run in a time of 1:50.81. Floyd's time puts him fifth in the country and third all-time in the Pomona-Pitzer record books.
"Carter ran awesome today to punch his ticket to the nations championships," said Head Coach Jordan Carpenter. "I knew this type of performance was in his wheelhouse based on how his workouts have been going, but we just hadn't been able to get into a race for him to show it before today. It will be exciting to see him compete against the best guys in the country next week."
