EAGLE ROCK, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Track & Field team performed well at the Oxy Distance Carnival Spring Break Classic, with a couple athletes posting nationally-ranked times in their respective events.
"I thought we had a great day as a group today," said Head Coach Jordan Carpenter. "We set a number of great performances including a few that will rank very highly on the national list."
In the distance events, Carter Floyd recorded a 3:49.09 in the 1500m, the third-fastest mark in program history and the fastest time in the nation. He finished second overall in the race.
"Carter Floyd showed the ability to move up from the 800 meter event that he made nationals in last year and proved he is among the best 1500 meter runners in the country as well," said Coach Carpenter. "It's a testament to the work Carter has put in to get stronger as a runner in order to handle the increased race distance."
Over in the 5000 Meter Run, Andy Reischling ran a 14:28.40, the second-best time in the nation, and took sixth overall.
