GENEVA, OH. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Track and Field team ended day one with an All-American performance as senior Andy Reischling took seventh place in the 10,000m run on Thursday afternoon at the Spire Institute.
Reischling picked up All-American honors as he took seventh overall with a time of 30:48.05. Reischling now has five All-American performances and will look for number six on Saturday in the 5000m run. Sophomore Owen Woo finished his year in the 10k as he took 20th overall with a time of 33:14.45.
"Andy added to his large collection of All-American awards, further solidifying his historic Pomona-Pitzer Career," said Head Coach Jordan Carpenter. "This is All-American number five and he will chase number six on Saturday in the 5000m final"
Junior Danny Rosen came into the 3000m Steeplechase with the best qualifying time in Division III and won his heat with a time of 9:13.38 to advance to the finals on Saturday afternoon at 11:45 a.m. Senior Julian DeGroot-Lutzner finished in 18th overall with a time of 9:44.52, which did not qualify for the finals.
"Danny executes his race plan well and was able to ensure his advancement to the final," said Carpenter. "He will head into the final as one of the favorites, which will be exciting to see. This is three-straight years that Danny has made the final at the national meet."
Sophomore Carter Floyd and first-year Dante Paszkeicz competed in the 1500m run. Paszkeicz took 14th with a time of 4:01.40 and Floyd ended in 19th with a time of 4:04.34. Both Sagehens missed the qualifying time for the final race.
