Sagehen Bats Go Quiet In Sweep At Chapman

Orange, Calif. - The Chapman Softball team earned a pair of shutouts as it captured 2-0 and 9-0 wins over Pomona-Pitzer on Friday.

With the losses, the Sagehens slip to 1-14 on the season and 1-9 in the SCIAC.

Sophomore Susanne Boden was 2-for-3 in the opening game for Pomona-Pitzer, acccounting for two of the team's four hits. Junior Meagan Tokunaga (pictured) had the lone hit in the nightcap for the Sagehens.

Freshman Bianca Cockrell threw well in the opener, allowing just one earned run on five hits but took the tough luck loss. Cassie Oregel threw a four-hit shutout in the opener for Chapman, and Natalie Both followed with a one-hitter in the nightcap, which was shortened to five innings.

Pomona-Pitzer will be back in action tomorrow for a 12 p.m. home doubleheader against CMS.
