ROME, GA – The Pomona-Pitzer softball team fell to Berry 4-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Ford Field in Rome, Georgia.
The Sagehens offense struggled in their game against Berry as Pomona-Pitzer did not register a run and only tallied one hit in the game coming off of the bat of senior Aryana Yee.
Berry got ahead early as they scored two runs in the first inning off of a bunt for a single and a balk by the pitcher to give Berry an early 2-0 lead.
The Vikings scored one more run in the bottom of the third as Kylie Aiken brought home a run on a fielder's choice to extend the lead to 3-0.
Berry added one more run to its total as Brittany Ferrell hit an RBI doubled to center field as the Vikings took a 4-0 lead heading into the fifth inning.
The Sagehens could not find their bats in the first game of their spring trip as they fell to Berry and move to 2-10 on the year.
The Sagehens continue their Georgia trip as they take on Emory for a double header on Wednesday, March 16th starting at 10:30 a.m.
