Claremont, Calif. - Freshman forward Jenn Okonkwo (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. - pictured) had 20 points and 15 rebounds (11 offensive) to lead the Pomona-Pitzer Women's Basketball team to a 61-40 win over Caltech on Saturday evening at Voelkel Gymnasium.

With the win, the Sagehens improve to 5-13 overall and 4-7 in the SCIAC. Caltech slips to 1-19 overall and 0-12 in the SCIAC with the loss.

Okonkwo and sophomore guard Ruthie Shapiro (Moraga, Calif.) scored two quick baskets to push the lead to 32-20 to start the second half, but Caltech continued to fight and got within 40-32 on a jumper from Kristin Anderson with 10:52 to play.

With the score 43-33, Pomona-Pitzer finally put the game away with a 9-0 run, capped off by a three-pointer from freshman forward Dana Brozost-Kelleher (Washington, D.C.).
