Women's Basketball: Sagehens Fall on the Road to Panthers

ORANGE, CA – Alaina Woo totalled double figures and Naomi Baer grabbed seven rebounds, but the Pomona-Pitzer Women's Basketball team couldn't stop hot shooting from the Panthers, dropping a game on the road to Chapman 80-56 Wednesday night.

Woo, who surpassed 1,000 points a week ago in a 71-67 win against La Verne, finished with double digit figures for the fourth straight game. The senior totalled 11 points in the contest with three three-pointers. 

Woo currently leads the SCIAC in average points per game (17.4) and total points (348). Her career point total now sits at 1,041.

Anita Romero scored nine points and grabbed two boards. Kacie Hitomi and Keilani Ikehara were both aggressive defensively. Hitomi finished the game with five steals and Ikehara had four of her own. 

Zoe Hunt, Anya Quig, and Ikehara each scored six points. 

Baer scored five points to go with her seven rebounds. Kylee Rae and Hitomi each added five points.

Chapman shot 51.7 percent from the field and 54.5 percent from beyond the arc.

Season Impact: The Sagehens drop to 1-11 in SCIAC play and 1-19 overall. Chapman improves to 10-2 in conference play and 13-8 overall. The Panthers are currently tied for first place in the SCIAC.
