PACIFIC GROVE, CA. – The No. 8 Pomona-Pitzer Women's Golf team finished in second place at the UCSC Spring Invite on Saturday and Sunday afternoon at the Pacific Grove Golf Links.
The Sagehens finished with a final score of 620, which landed them in second place out of seven teams. George Fox took first with a score of 598, Ottawa University took third at 639, Occidental took fourth at 655 and rounding out the top-five was Texas Lutheran at 683.
The Sagehens had their top-three players tie for sixth overall as Sophia Hui, Andi Chaloult and Annabelle Huether all finished with a score of 154. Hui and Chaloult took a consistent two rounds of golf as each of them shot 77 in both rounds. Huether ended day one with round low of 71 and came back with an 83 in round two to end her tournament with a 154 along with Hui and Chaloult.
Gabrielle Herzig ended in a tie for 14th overall as she shot an 83 in round one and came back with a 77 in round two for a final score of 160. Ending the day for the Sagehens was Stephanie Yu who shot an 87 and an 81 for a score of 168, good for a tie for 22nd overall.
