Claremont, Calif. - Darrah Shields scored in the 57th minute as the CMS Women's Soccer team took a 1-0 win over Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday evening at Pritzlaff Field.

The loss drops Pomona-Pitzer's record to 2-4 overall on the season and 0-2 in the SCIAC, while CMS improves to 4-3-1 overall and 2-1 in league play.

Immediately after CMS scored, sophomore midfielder Abby Onderwyzer Gold (pictured) had three shot attempts to tie it, two of which were saved by CMS goalie Kelly McConnell and the other of which was blocked. After that, junior forward Danika Bethune had a shot saved by McConnell in the 68th minute, but that was as close as the Sagehens could get.
